Agapanthus Praecox (Blue)

R50,00

The Agapanthus (Blue), frequently reffered to as the African Lily or Lily of the Nile, is a hardy, indigenous plant that adds vibrant colour to any garden. Its beautiful clusters of deep blue, trumpet-shaped flowers sitting on tall, slender stems are both elegant and low-maintenance, which is exactly how we prefer our garden guests.

Botanical name: Agapanthus praecox.

Positioning:
Prefers full sun, but adapts well to light shade. Ideal for borders, containers, or mass planting for a spectacular effect.

Watering Requirements:
Moderate. Water frequently, but allow the soil to dry somewhat between waterings once established.

Growing Tips & Tricks:
– Divide clumps every few years to keep them healthy.
– Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring for lush growth and blossoms.
– Deadhead fading blooms in order to encourage a longer flowering season.

The Agapanthus is not only a stunning garden plant, but it is also drought-tolerant once established, making it an eco-friendly preference in Eastern Cape gardens.
